Accurate analysis of the causes of infant skin diseases is important!!
For the first time after childbirth, the baby I had only heard about verbally experienced heat rash.
I am leaving this review because I wonder if there are others like me.
What is heat rash?
An allergic skin condition that appears 2 to 4 months after a baby is born, it is a type of atopic dermatitis. Since a diagnosis of atopic dermatitis is not usually made for infants under 6 months old, the term "heat rash" is used.
I simply thought of the time as medicine, and even at the local clinic, I was told to keep the baby well-moisturized and not to heat the room too much, so I kept the heating low, wore fleece in winter, and kept the room at 22 degrees for the baby... but once the heat rash appeared, it didn't go away and only got worse!
Even when I pack it like that every day, it still turns red and gets scabby.
Initially, my face was always red, and my abdomen was also red, along with my arms and legs..💧
Taking a 100-day photo makes your arms look really red.. ㅠㅠ
Every time I changed the diaper, I felt so upset and it was always a difficult day for me. I blame myself for everything...
Then, I took my child to Seongbuk Our Children Hospital for a cold, and since it's a large hospital, I asked about the cold treatment while there.
After waiting for over two hours for the consultation, my stomach is so red and my limbs are like this. Could it be atopic dermatitis? When I asked, they said it might be sensitive skin, but they also mentioned there could be a problem with formula.
At that time, I was mixing breastfeeding and formula, but since my breast milk was insufficient, the amount of formula gradually increased. After checking my condition, it was suggested that I might have a milk protein allergy.
They say you can find out exactly through a blood test.
I looked it up on the internet, and it says that blood tests are usually not done within six months, but I wanted to find out the cause.
So, I had a blood test that day.
A few days later, the blood test results came out, and it was revealed that our child has a gluten protein allergy.
I received counseling at the nutrition consultation room on the third floor to feed hypoallergenic or soy formula, and I ordered it from Coupang and fed it to my baby on the same day.
After feeding for about a week, the redness on the stomach gradually disappeared. It was amazing 😭
I thought it was atopic dermatitis all along and kept applying moisturizer diligently, but it turns out it wasn't just that.
Now, not only the belly but also the arms, legs, and face are becoming clear, revealing the original fair skin☺️
Everyone said time was the cure, but I never thought my child would have a soy protein allergy.. haha
When you have a skin condition, I think it's necessary to go to the hospital for an accurate diagnosis. And also, please visit the hospital two or three times!!
Every time I see my baby looking clean now, I think I was hesitant to get the blood test back then, but I'm glad I did.
