Oriental medicine rhinitis treatment

My child is taking herbal medicine to treat rhinitis.

My child, who used to sniff his nose a lot and smell cinnamon, has significantly reduced his nose picking, but he said he'll take herbal medicine for two weeks and then do a test before taking it again for another two weeks. Is it possible to treat rhinitis with herbal medicine alone? I'm wondering if I need to use other treatments. My child is nine years old.
