First-degree facial burn emergency treatment with Fucidin after burn injury review
I'll summarize the post-treatment review of applying Fucidin after first aid for a 1st-degree facial burn.
Shall I share stories about personal experiences, first aid for burns, and reviews of burn treatment?
About five years ago, I had a burn injury on my face.
As you can see in the picture, the swollen mark at the corner of the mouth is a burn scar. To briefly explain what happened...
The day five years ago when I first ate lamb skewers while I was alive.
That day, I wasn't eating anything anyway, so I was just waiting for the meat to cook while hungry...
The companion who went with me just now took a bite of the lamb skewers at the same time as saying it was okay to eat.
Huh?
Did you eat a bear?!
They bit into it like that while holding a hot iron skewerㅜㅜ
Oh.. I was worried about how foolish I was, but I couldn't help but chuckle softly at how absurd it was.
I was shocked and hurt, so I cried... then we laughed together... haha (Honestly, I was speechless)
I was really worried because it happened to be a facial burn.
Types of burns
*Open wound burn
Hot heat, meaning damage to the skin caused by direct burns from fire or hot water.
Chemical burn
It refers to damage to the skin and organs caused by sudden contact with chemical substances, usually such cases
They are often noticeable in laboratories that utilize tools.
Since it occurs suddenly and can lead to severe damage, immediate first aid should be administered and a professional should be consulted.
It's better to get help right away.
Electrical burn
Direct contact with electric current or handling electrical equipment can cause electrical burns due to short circuits or sparks, and being directly struck by lightning also falls under the broad definition of electrical burns.
Depending on the size and type of electricity, even if it looks okay externally, internal organs may sustain burns, so it is best to seek proper treatment from a specialist as soon as possible.
Inhalation burn
When hot gases or chemical burns occur, inhaling harmful gases produced can cause damage to the airway.
This is during the suction process, and because of the path, it causes burns from the suction, leading to suction burns.
It's there.
Burn emergency treatment
The first aid I attempted for burns was to fill a cup with water, cool the cup, and place it on the affected area to reduce the heat.
Basic burn first aid is based on cooling the burn area, but extremely cold temperatures like ice water can actually damage the tissue. It's better to cool the area with lukewarm water.
Also, if blisters form, you should not pop them.
Because blisters allow bacterial invasion and moisture evaporation.
Because it prevents it.
If a blister bursts or ice is applied directly to the affected area, there is a risk of secondary infection.
If a blister accidentally bursts, I recommend not peeling off the skin and leaving it as it is.
It also reduces pain and is better during later burn treatments.
Burn treatment
So, how did I do the burn treatment?
Since it was a minor first-degree burn, it was okay to leave it to heal naturally, but I consistently applied the Fucidin that I usually use.
Including the Vaspo ointment above, Fucidin and Madekasol are classified as topical antibiotic ointments used to prevent secondary infection after burns.
The efficacy of Fusidin is due to the active ingredient fusidic acid sodium, which inhibits bacterial growth.
Therefore, it is good to apply not only for burns but also for abrasions, wounds, and other cases where secondary bacterial infection is a concern.
Because I frequently use Fucidin, I applied only Fucidin to almost all wounds.
First-degree burn treatment
If you understand that a first-degree burn is a condition without blisters or open wounds, you'll realize that it's not a major issue.
The treatment process for a first-degree burn begins with cooling the burn area using saline solution or lukewarm water at an appropriate temperature. If the affected area is large, care must be taken to prevent hypothermia.
Since you won't be doing this for long, just let it cool sufficiently for about 10 to 15 minutes, then apply an appropriate 1st-degree burn ointment to help soothe it.
If the accompanying pain lasts for a long time, taking painkillers is also okay.
However, you should not eat excessively and should aim to get enough rest.
Not folk remedies whose efficacy is unknown, but those that sufficiently cool the skin.
Apply an appropriate ointment on top in a thin layer, then cover to allow absorption.
This is the basic first-degree burn treatment process.
However, if the blister has burst and the pain persists deeply, do not use ointment; instead, cool the area.
You need to visit a specialized burn hospital for treatment.
Usage instructions and precautions for Fusidin
Fucidin is often kept as an emergency medication at home, so it is frequently stored for a long period.
There is a possibility of contamination after about six months of opening.
Please be aware that the effectiveness of the medication may decrease.
Fucidin usage: It is recommended to use it about twice a day for only about a week.
Because prolonged use of antibiotics can lead to resistance.
Having become a joker...
The swollen area caused by the burn later developed small blisters, which then naturally fell off.
Fucidin was applied for about a week, and the wound healed completely.
I didn't apply anything after that.
I was thinking of applying scar ointment for the burn scar, but I'll leave it to myself.
I thought it would disappear, so I didn't do anything anymore.
The sore area keeps making me put my tongue on it... lol
After about a month, the scar becomes lighter, and in 2-3 months, it will...
Currently, the burn scars have completely disappeared, so unfortunately, they are no longer present.
Could not find it.
Even now, when I recall that day, I feel dizzy and end up smiling quietly.
