Is LASIK less painful these days?

I had LASIK surgery 10 years ago because my eyesight was very poor. Even now, my eyes are generally okay.

However, my younger sibling asked if they could get LASIK surgery. ㅜㅜ These days, there isn't much information available. ㅜ

There are also many LASIK procedures that are less painful than before, right?
