LASIK, LASEK, SMILE LASIK. Simple summary & pros and cons

LASIK, LASEK, and SMILE LASIK.

I'm curious about that!! So I looked it up^^

 

LASIK

A method that separates the corneal layer, trims the inside of the cornea, and covers it with a flap.

Approximately 10 minutes on one side for the surgery time.

Advantages: Less pain, shorter recovery period

Disadvantage: Vulnerable to external shocks

 

LASIK

A method of correcting vision by shaving the corneal surface in a single procedure.

Approximately 5 minutes on one side for the surgery time.

Advantages: resistant to external shocks, fewer complications.

Disadvantages: pain, tingling. Recovery period of 1 to 2 weeks.

 

Smile

A method of carving the cornea like tunneling and extracting the stroma through that tunnel.

Advantages: No pain and resistant to external shocks.

The recovery period is moderate for LASIK and LASEK.

 

Precautions When Choosing a Procedure

You should not insist on your own surgical method based solely on general information or reviews.

The procedure method should be determined by considering factors such as corneal thickness and shape, hobbies and occupation, available free time, and the presence of other ocular diseases, so always consult with a specialist.
