7 Ways to Use Expired Sunscreen

7 Ways to Use Expired Sunscreen

I have three new sunscreens that have passed their expiration date, and I was about to throw them away.

I looked it up just in case it might be useful.

2. Glass stain removal

Let's try using sunscreen to remove stains on glass bottles or mirrors. The oil components contained in sunscreen, or UV protection cream, are highly effective in removing stains. After applying expired sunscreen onto a cloth and rubbing it multiple times on the stained area, then wiping with a dry cloth, the stain can be cleaned thoroughly.

3. Leather Restoration

Leather products such as furniture, wallets, and bags tend to become rough and discolor easily with frequent use due to the nature of the material. At this time, applying expired sunscreen to leather products can restore the color and also provide a glossy effect. Gently rub the sunscreen onto the leather item, then wipe it again with a clean, dry cloth to remove dirt without causing damage.

4. Sticker residue removal

Residual marks or adhesive stains left after removing stickers do not easily disappear and quickly turn black, making them dirty. In such cases, apply sunscreen and wait about 10 minutes, then gently rub and wipe to peel off the sticker or adhesive residue as if scraping it away. Tape marks on windows or dining tables can be removed using the same method.

5. Reproduction on the day of cutting

If you have rusty or sticky tape that hasn't been used for a long time, and the scissors' blades have become dull, you can restore their sharpness using sunscreen. Simply apply a generous amount of expired sunscreen to the dull part of the blades and make a few cuts on an empty surface. Sunscreen not only helps remove foreign substances from the scissors but also adds shine, making them look like new.

6. Stainless steel cleaning

There are several methods to clean and polish stainless steel surfaces that are easily stained with water spots, such as sinks and showerheads. Among them, expired sunscreen that can no longer be used is the easiest and quickest solution. Squeeze an appropriate amount of sunscreen onto the stainless steel and spread it evenly, then wipe it clean with a paper towel. Afterward, rinse once with lukewarm water to completely remove stains and water spots.

7. Accessory Gloss

When accessories that are not used often are stored for a long time, they tend to become tarnished and discolored. Even if accessories become discolored or develop rust, gently wiping the surface with a soft cloth and old sunscreen can remove dirt and help restore their original appearance. If there are necklaces, rings, earrings, or other jewelry left neglected in the drawer, try cleaning them thoroughly with sunscreen.

8. Shoe sole cleaning

When you wear shoes, the upper part is usually fine, but sometimes only the sole becomes particularly stained and dirty. If you apply plenty of sunscreen to the yellowed sole and then gently rub it, you can easily remove the dirt. However, when removing stains, be careful because if sunscreen gets on parts other than the rubber sole, it may leave stains depending on the material.

There was indeed a place where it was expected to be used.

I'll put on leather gloves and a jacket once.

I need to use it for cleaning the mirror.
