Hair Transplant

When can hair transplants be performed? I am worried because my crown area is thinning, can I do it in such cases? I am curious if many people also undergo hair transplants for similar concerns. Most women probably have similar worries, so I wonder how they manage it... I also wonder if hair transplants are only possible for the crown area, and whether the results are permanent.
