Sharing my experience with treating candidiasis!
I experienced pain during urination, so I wondered if it was a bladder infection again, and I went to the gynecology clinic. After an ultrasound and a smear test, I was diagnosed with candidiasis. Sharing my experience with treating candidiasis.
First. To treat candidiasis, you need to understand what candidiasis is, right?
Candida albicans accounts for 90% of the causative bacteria and is said to be a disease that at least once affects 50-75% of women of reproductive age.
Second. What symptoms of the disease did I experience to treat candidiasis?
White cheese-like vaginal discharge, itching, burning sensation in the vulva, painful urination, and pain during intercourse are reported. While vaginal inflammation is often described as intensely itchy and difficult, my symptoms only included pain during urination.
Third. To treat candidiasis, you need to identify the cause, right?
Weakening of immunity, increased estrogen levels, and antibiotic use are involved, but it seems that the primary cause was weakened immunity due to increased stress.
Fourth. How to treat candidiasis vaginitis?
There are vaginal suppositories of Clotrimazole or oral administration of Fluconazole, but I treated with vaginal suppositories.
Fifth. What are the preventive measures after treating candidiasis?
Bacteria generally prefer a humid and warm environment. Therefore, tight-fitting underwear made of well-ventilated fabric should be avoided. At home, it is actually best to go without underwear. Additionally, the doctor advised using feminine hygiene products, so I always use them regularly. Washing with a mildly acidic cleanser is also a method for treating candidiasis vaginitis. During menstruation, when the flow decreases, pads should be changed at least every 3-5 hours. Wearing a pad for a long time despite a small amount of flow can cause vaginitis.
I shared my experience regarding the treatment of candidiasis. Above all, I felt that strengthening the immune system is important. I need to manage stress well and exercise regularly.
