There is a possibility of syphilis recurrence... I thought I was cured.

I am writing this after hearing some shocking news today. 😢

 

I thought I had been successfully treated for syphilis and was "cured" before.

 

But, I had another test recently...

Something felt off. I can't believe syphilis can relapse; I wonder what's going on.

 

I was relieved because syphilis is said to be completely curable if treated early, but...

 

I was a bit confused after hearing that the bacteria remaining in my body after recovery might become active again.

 

Of course, they say that if the treatment goes well, there is no chance of reinfection, but hearing that there is a possibility of recurrence makes me feel uneasy.

Are there any people who have been tested again after being fully cured? I thought I was fully cured once, but hearing this news again makes me feel very anxious.

 

I would really appreciate it if everyone could share tips or experiences on preventing recurrence!
