Are surgeries for uterine fibroids or ovarian cysts common?

I had an abdominal CT scan at the emergency room, and since they said I had an ovarian cyst, I went for an outpatient appointment at the OB/GYN. At first, after looking at the images, they said I had an ovarian cyst and a uterine fibroid and suggested surgery. However, they asked to check again and did an ultrasound, saying the size had decreased and it would probably be okay to just leave it alone. They told me to come back if I feel uncomfortable or anything. Since they changed their mind and said it wasn't surgery after originally suggesting it, I feel relieved, but also a bit uneasy.

In what cases is surgery usually recommended?

크기가 크면 수술하죠. 위치가 좋지 않더라도 크기가 작으면 웬만해서는 수술을 권유하지 않을 거예요. 병원에서 초음파로 확인후 크기가 줄어들었고 의료진이 괜찮다고 했으니 괜찮은 거죠~ 경과가 좋은거니 걱정하지 않으셔도 돼요.

자궁근종이나 혹은 시간이 지나면 크기가 줄어들기도 해서 계속 해서 주기적으로 검사 받는게 중요해요 그냥 지켜보자고 하면서 언제 다시 초음파 받아보자고 했지요? 기간 맞춰서 초음파 주기적으로 받으세요 그리고 추가적으로 진료보고 싶으면 대학병원이나 여성전문병원 큰 곳에 가서 다시 진료보는 방법도 있구요.

자궁근종의 크기나 개수도 중요하지만 어느 위치에 생겼는지가 중요하다고 하시더라구요 저도 근종이 있는데요 1년에 한번씩 관리 차원에서 진료 받고 있어요 근종 때문에 생활적으로 불편함이 없으시다면 저처럼 산부인과 정기 검진 으로 추적 관찰만 하셔도도되 듯 싶어요
