Gyeonggi Province, free COVID-19 vaccinations for high-risk groups starting from the 11th
Gyeonggi Province announced that free COVID-19 vaccinations for high-risk groups will begin on the 11th.
As COVID-19 reemerged, our family was in chaos this yearㅠㅠ
In the case of elderly individuals, the same as influenza, starting from those aged 75 and older, sequentially by age group after 11 days
While administering vaccinations, they recommend simultaneous administration of the two vaccines...
You can come for the simultaneous vaccination.
I also have to go get the flu shot~
Take good care of your health, everyone~
Gyeonggi Province will carry out COVID-19 vaccinations from the 11th of this month until April 30th of next year.
The vaccination support target includes high-risk infection groups such as seniors aged 65 and older, immunocompromised individuals over 6 months old, and residents or patients in vulnerable facilities, who can receive free vaccination at designated medical institutions.
In the case of elderly individuals, vaccination is carried out sequentially by age group starting from those aged 75 and older, 11 days later, similar to influenza, and simultaneous administration of both vaccines is recommended. Immunocompromised individuals over 6 months of age and residents or patients in infection-prone facilities also begin vaccination from the 11th, the same as those aged 75 and older.
Although the COVID-19 outbreak has shifted to a declining trend during the summer, it is important for high-risk groups, such as those aged 65 and older who are at greater risk of severe illness upon infection, to actively participate in vaccination to prepare for the upcoming winter COVID-19 outbreak.
This vaccination uses the new JN.1 vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna, Novavax), which is effective against the recently prevalent variants. The seasonal vaccination is completed with a single dose, but for immunocompromised individuals under 12 years old, more than one dose is required, so consultation with medical staff is necessary before vaccination.
COVID-19 vaccinations can be received at designated medical institutions regardless of address, and the nearest designated institution can be checked on the Vaccination Assistance website (nip.kdca.go.kr).
When visiting a vaccination center, it is necessary to bring identification to verify eligibility for vaccination and prevent duplicate doses. Additionally, after vaccination, you should stay at the vaccination site for 20 to 30 minutes to monitor for adverse reactions, then return home and take adequate rest.
Han Jeong-hee, Director of the Gyeonggi-do Infectious Disease Control Division, stated, "Since the variants of COVID-19 that cause seasonal outbreaks change every year, it is recommended that high-risk groups get vaccinated annually." She added, "Especially for seniors aged 65 and older, we hope they can conveniently receive both COVID-19 and influenza vaccines simultaneously to have a safe winter."
