I trust Maxibuphen the most as a fever reducer for infants.

Of course, if you are a household raising a child

You inevitably have to have an antipyretic and analgesic.

My first child had mild tonsillitis, so until he entered elementary school, I...

My throat is swollen, and I often have a fever that rises above 38°C, sometimes reaching 39-40°C.

Especially, we had to always have at least one fever reducer on hand.

And among them, what suited our child well was

It was Maxibuphen syrup.

The propofen series was better at controlling fever than the acetaminophen series.

First, when discussing infant fever reducers, acetaminophen, ibuprofen, and dexibuprofen are involved.

I think I should start by explaining what it is.

The reason for using antipyretic and analgesic medications is well known to everyone, but

When a virus invades the body, the body responds by producing immune substances.

At this time, a fever occurs.

So, having a fever means that the body is responding.

If a high fever persists for a long time, it can cause abnormalities in the body's organs.

Fever reducers are used to lower the fever so that the body can return to normal.

Acetaminophen, ibuprofen, and dexibuprofen are the most commonly used antipyretic and analgesic medications.

The suppository Suspense, Setofen syrup, and red Champ contain ingredients such as acetaminophen.

Blue Champ and Blue Pency Syrup are antipyretics containing ibuprofen.

And the Maxibu-Pen and Maxibu-Kids I am introducing are antipyretics containing Dexibuprofen.

So, what are the differences among the three ingredients?

I'll take a look once.

1. Acetaminophen

It is effective for fever reduction and pain relief, with almost no side effects. It can be used after the baby is over 4 months old.

Usually, in pediatrics, acetaminophen in dry powder form is frequently prescribed for children with fever.

The main products include Tylenol and Gevorin for adults, and for children, SetoPen syrup and Red Champ are well-known.

Acetaminophen is widely used in cold medicines and fever reducers, so check if other medications contain the same ingredient.

You need to know that all fever reducers should not be taken above the recommended daily dose to avoid overloading the liver and prevent side effects.

(Of course, when adults take cold medicine or Tylenol, they should avoid drinking alcohol that strains the liver, and)

You should also avoid taking caffeine at the same time, as it interferes with ingredient absorption.

2. Ibuprofen

It is effective for fever reduction, pain relief, and anti-inflammatory purposes, with known side effects including gastrointestinal disturbances and vomiting.

If over 6 months old, it can be taken; for adults, Ibu-pen, Brufen, and for children, Brufen syrup and Blue Champ are the main fever reducers.

It is known to have a longer duration of action and less impact on the liver compared to acetaminophen.

(It is also said that drinking alcohol can cause stomach problems, and taking it in a dehydrated state can lead to kidney issues.)

3. Dexibuprofen

- It is effective for fever reduction, pain relief, and anti-inflammatory purposes, but like ibuprofen, it can cause side effects such as nausea and gastrointestinal issues.

If the infant is over 6 months old, the medication that can be taken is the same as ibuprofen.

Maxibuphen and Maxibu Kids are the 대표 (representatives) of children's fever reducers.

It is selected as 100% pure active ingredient S-ibuprofen, which has a high effect among ibuprofen components.

It is a medication that provides high effectiveness even at low doses and minimizes side effects such as heartburn.

It is said to have a higher effectiveness and fewer side effects, similar to ibuprofen in many aspects.

Perhaps because of that, the pediatric clinic I have been visiting since my first child was born and the pediatric clinic I have been going to continuously since my second child moved here both contain the ingredient dexibuprofen.

I prescribed Maxibuphen as a cross-therapy medication well.

Acetaminophen is an immediate-release formulation, but because its duration of action is short

If the purpose is to take the medication during the long night period, dexibuprofen or ibuprofen would be more appropriate.

Similarly, when anti-inflammatory effects are needed, dexibuprofen or ibuprofen are more suitable.

Our son usually had a fever due to tonsillitis, and in the case of our daughter, it was otitis media.

Because an anti-inflammatory effect was needed, dexibuprofen, Maxibupren, seemed to be more effective.

Recently, the red Champ and Coldaone Kids Pen Syrup containing acetaminophen were discontinued and recalled.

It caused a lot of outrage among many mothers... In my case, I also tried giving it to my children when they were young, but the effect was not as good as Maxibuphen.

I almost didn't show up because of that. I received it from the health center due to COVID-19 or possibly bought it in case of accidental cross-use.

It was there, but since two years had passed, I took everything to the pharmacy.

The photo below shows the Maxibu Pen I am using.

My 11-year-old son (born in October 2013) has experienced fewer episodes of fever caused by swollen tonsils since entering the 3rd grade, occurring about once or twice a year.

When I was young... because of the large temperature fluctuations or seasonal changes, I would go to the hospital for a week, then not go for three weeks, just taking medication the whole time... it was that severe.

So, I always asked for 2-3 bottles of Maxibuphen 50ml to be prescribed, and I kept them as emergency medication.

I still have this product unopened as an over-the-counter medication.

Since fever reducers should be discarded after one month of opening, it's better to keep small amounts like this rather than large quantities.

Individual packaging is better.

After opening Maxibuphen, pull the tab of the paper that sticks out to open it; the usage and dosage are provided there.

The dosage by age group is as follows.

Therefore, as the amount of waste increases, it becomes wasteful, so there are also individually packaged MaxiBuKids stick products in small packages.

They carry emergency medication with them when they go on trips or travel.

If you're mothers, you probably already know about the method of cross-dosing.

Acetaminophen + ibuprofen or dexibuprofen should be taken with at least a 2-hour interval between each to avoid overlapping administration.

Ibuprofen and Dexibuprofen should not be taken interchangeably because they are both propens.

And as you well know... fever reducers are said to have the effect of lowering the temperature by 1 degree.

My son also had inflammation in his throat that appeared white, and when he had a fever of 40 degrees, taking a fever reducer brought his temperature down to 38.5 to 39 degrees.

It has gone up again... The inflammation has been somewhat controlled with antibiotics, and the fever has also decreased...

Although it's not available at Choice, Maxibupren, which contains dexibuprofen, worked well for our children.

I'm introducing it like this~~ ^^

By the way, I really wish pharmaceutical companies would pay more attention when it comes to children's medicine.

I just hope that incidents like this with the current champion and Call Daewon Kids do not happen again.

I also use those two things around me, so what if both of them have problems?

Are blue champions really okay? There were more than a few worried moms...

This was my choice of fever reducer for my baby~

I hope this will be helpful.

Thank you for reading~
