Buprofen syrup was launched by Samil Pharmaceutical in 1987 and has been the market leader for 35 years, making it a well-known antipyretic medication. It contains ibuprofen, which is effective for reducing fever, pain relief, and anti-inflammatory purposes.

 

Since 2012, it has been designated as an over-the-counter medication, allowing purchase not only at pharmacies but also at convenience stores without a prescription from a doctor or pharmacist. If you urgently need medicine but don't have any at home, you can quickly run to a convenience store to buy it, which is really fortunate.

However, products sold at pharmacies are 90ml, and products sold at convenience stores are 80ml, so you must measure the appropriate amount according to age using a measuring cup.

 

As you can see, the Burufen syrup sold at pharmacies is 90ml, while the Burufen syrup at convenience stores is 80ml, but the price at convenience stores is much more expensive.

 

What are the ingredients of Buphen syrup?

This is ibuprofen (20mg). Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug used primarily for its antipyretic, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory effects, and it is commonly used together with acetaminophen, the main ingredient in Tylenol.

Additionally, COX enzymes inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins that cause fever, pain, and inflammation, thereby preventing pain signals from reaching the brain and helping to relieve pain.

Acetaminophen provides pain relief and fever reduction, while ibuprofen not only relieves pain and reduces fever but also has anti-inflammatory effects.

Bupropen syrup can be taken by adults as well, and for adults, the total daily dose is three times a day—after breakfast, lunch, and dinner—taking 10 to 20 ml each time, 30 minutes after meals.

For children weighing less than 30kg, the recommended dosage should be carefully checked and taken: 3-5ml for ages 1-2, 5-8ml for ages 3-6, 8-10ml for ages 7-8, and 10-13ml for ages 11-14.

Precautions when taking

First, be sure to take it after meals!!
