Do children also get ingrown toenails due to heredity? In the picture

My child is 7 years old now, and I'm worried because I think their toenail might be an ingrown one. When they were about 5, their big toe was slightly red and swollen and they complained of pain, but now there are no symptoms like swelling or redness. However, although it's hard to see in the photo, it looks like it's slightly curled, similar to an ingrown toenail. Since everyone on my father's side has had ingrown toenails, I'm concerned. Could this be an ingrown toenail?
