"Is the coffee you drank today the right amount of caffeine?"... How can I find out how much you drink?

"Is the coffee you drank today the right amount of caffeine?"... How can I find out how much you drink?

There are quite a few people who have mixed feelings about coffee. They love and enjoy coffee very much, but because of caffeine, they experience insomnia or anxiety. Is there a way to more easily determine if my caffeine intake is appropriate for me?

According to the American health and medical media 'Healthline,' consuming 400mg of caffeine per day can lead to various side effects such as increased heart rate, anxiety, nausea, headaches, and insomnia, according to research findings. 400mg of caffeine is equivalent to four small cups of coffee using a household coffee mug. However, the effects of caffeine on the mind and body vary greatly depending on the individual. Therefore, it is important to judge oneself and appropriately regulate the amount of coffee consumed.

It is never easy to accurately determine whether you are drinking the right amount of coffee every day because you drink coffee both at home and outside. It is generally considered that a cup of Americano from a commercial coffee shop contains 150mg of caffeine. The caffeine content of mixed coffee is about 60mg.

Depending on the store, the size of the coffee cup, and the person preparing the coffee, the caffeine content varies significantly. Starbucks, a specialty coffee shop, offers an Americano with 150mg of caffeine in a tall size, 225mg in a grande size, and 300mg in a venti size. The hot Americano short size contains 75mg of caffeine. If you enjoy an iced Americano ('A.A.') at Starbucks, drinking about 2.67 cups or less per day will keep you within the FDA recommended intake.

There is a particular point to be cautious about when enjoying caffeinated beverages like coffee. Some caffeinated drinks may contain more than twice the amount of caffeine found in a single cup of coffee. Always check the nutrition labels of foods and beverages and make it a habit to calculate your total caffeine intake. It is also important to keep in mind that dietary supplements (health functional foods) are not regulated for caffeine content, which can lead to excessive caffeine consumption.

Consuming foods and beverages containing caffeine other than coffee (such as green tea, black tea, carbonated drinks, chocolate milk, etc.) and supplements indiscriminately can lead to caffeine side effects without you realizing it. The FDA warns that consuming 1200 mg of pure caffeine all at once or within a short period can cause neurotoxicity, nausea, and other toxic effects. In fact, one teaspoon of pure powdered caffeine contains an amount of caffeine equivalent to 28 cups of coffee.

Even if you only drink two cups of coffee a day and still find it hard to sleep well, consider reducing to one cup a day. Your body may not tolerate caffeine well, or you may be consuming too much caffeine through other foods and beverages. Remember that decaffeinated coffee may still contain a small amount of caffeine. It is also important to drink plenty of water along with caffeine.

=============

I decided to limit myself to one drink a day.

Two cups are good.

Three cups make my chest thump haha, this must be caffeine~

It's not just coffee, it's filled with everything~

Please take good care and check your caffeine intake~
