Sharing the treatment I received while visiting an ophthalmologist for dry eye syndrome
Dry eye disease is a common problem for many people. I've been struggling with it for a long time and have even visited hospitals to find treatment. I'm sharing my dry eye treatment process and daily habits, hoping this will be helpful to those struggling with dry eye treatment.
I suffered from severe dry eye when I was a student. Since I was young, I believe environmental factors played a significant role. Dry eye is generally defined as a condition where tear production decreases or, even if tears are produced abundantly, their composition changes, resulting in various symptoms, including dry eyes. My dry eye was so severe that I couldn't wear contact lenses, even with poor vision, and had to wear glasses. Even one-day lenses and lenses that were supposedly moisturizing were extremely irritating to my eyes, making daily life difficult. When dry eye symptoms were severe, I felt like I had sand in my eyes or a burning sensation. Sometimes, closing my eyes for a moment seemed to help, but it was only temporary. I visited an ophthalmologist, explained my symptoms, and was examined. They said I had dry eyes, but they weren't severe. I was prescribed artificial tears to help with my dry eye, and I use them frequently whenever I felt dryness. Now, I'm much better, so I only use them a few times a day, in the morning and afternoon. Modern people inevitably spend a lot of time on their phones and computers, which seems to significantly contribute to dry eyes. To treat dry eye, it's a good idea to rest your eyes about every 30 minutes when using a phone or computer. Your eyes are very precious. To treat dry eye, it's crucial to take good care of them on a daily basis.
