MJ Obstetrics and Gynecology is a bit far from my house, but I went there after receiving a family recommendation because other family members regularly go there.
My first impression was, wow, the hospital is huge!
Since the obstetrics and gynecology department occupies an entire building, the hospital is large and I felt a sense of trust for some reason.
Judging by the number of hospital rooms, it seems like there are a lot of mothers going to give birth.
I went there with high expectations because my family recommended it.
Reason for visit
The reason I went to the hospital was because of irregular periods.
My period was originally irregular, but I've been worried lately because I haven't had my period.
I thought it would be okay if I just left it alone, but it was delayed for four months, so I got anxious and ended up going to the gynecologist.
It was my first time going to an obstetrician/gynecologist, so I was really nervous, but thankfully the hospital atmosphere was comfortable and the doctor explained things kindly, so I quickly relaxed.
First, I had a basic consultation and then an ultrasound examination.
Obstetrics and gynecology ultrasound examinations are broadly divided into two types.
Purpose of examination / purpose of diagnosis
It's divided like this
Suspected of a non-pregnancy related gynecological disease
The former is for simple confirmation, and the latter is for disease detection, so if an ultrasound examination is recommended by a doctor, compensation for actual loss is also possible.
I went to the hospital to check for any abnormalities, so I chose the latter, and afterward I received all the insurance documents.
The ultrasound examination was over sooner than I thought.
First of all, I thought that irregular menstruation was caused by excessive work, stress, irregular meal times, and lack of sleep.
Originally, my cycle was regular, but at some point, it suddenly became irregular and it's been quite a while.
The ultrasound results don't show any major problems, but
If you haven't had your period, your uterine lining should be thicker, but it's thinner. Hormones are also responsible for thickening the uterine lining, so the conclusion is that it's probably a hormonal imbalance.
I was prescribed birth control pills because they said I needed to start by thickening the lining.
Birth control pills are not only used for simple contraception, but are also used in many cases, like mine, to induce menstruation, to treat other medical problems, and to treat skin problems (uterine related).
I suggested that we change the medication if nausea or other side effects occur.
She also said that there may be irregular bleeding while taking birth control pills, and that it is important to have healthy eating habits, exercise, eat well, and sleep well.
When my period starts, I was told to come back around the third day to check my hormone levels.
They say that if you keep taking the pink pills, your period will start around the time you take the fourth pill, the white pill.
Birth control pills are taken one a day at a specific time.
I was also told that even if I missed my scheduled time to take it, it wasn't a problem to be a few hours late, so it was important to take it even if it was late, and that I could start taking it at that time the next day. (The pharmacist explained this to me.)
today
It's been over two weeks since I started taking the medication, and thankfully I haven't had any side effects, just a little bleeding.
But since it hasn't really started yet, I think we'll have to wait and see.
If I had known that birth control pills would be the answer so easily(?), I wish I had taken them earlier... But I don't regret going to the gynecologist because I needed to know the exact condition.
At first, I was a little worried that there might be a problem because I had irregular periods, but it wasn't that big of a problem, so after hearing the explanation, I felt relieved and relieved.
First of all, it wasn't easy to relax when visiting an obstetrician/gynecologist for the first time, but the atmosphere was friendlier than I expected, so I realized that I didn't need to be unnecessarily scared!
In particular, the female doctor who treated me was so kind that all my tension melted away when I left the hospital!
Other than that, everyone at the desk was just so-so haha
I am continuing to take the medication as instructed at the hospital, and I have received a partial refund for the cost of the tests I received by filing a claim for compensation.
Obstetrics and gynecology is an area that requires regular checkups, so if you, like me, have been suffering from irregular periods for a long time, I recommend going to the hospital and getting a consultation.
