On the 2nd, according to Gwangyang Fire Station, a report was received around 9:10 a.m. that a person had fallen into the flower bed of an apartment in Gwangyang-eup, Gwangyang City, along with a blanket.

This woman was found in cardiac arrest and was urgently transferred to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The police stated, "They believe the deceased woman opened the balcony door and shook out the blanket, and due to the weight, she and another person fell together. They are investigating the exact cause of the accident."

Accidents involving falling while shaking out blankets on the balcony continue to occur. In May of last year, a 49-year-old man fell to his death while shaking out a blanket on the balcony of an apartment in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.
