Sharing the reasons why it was difficult to return to normal life after being diagnosed with norovirus.

Norovirus is a very difficult experience, a highly contagious virus that causes diarrhea and vomiting, transmitted through contaminated food or contact, with hand washing and personal hygiene management being key to prevention.

Sharing the reasons why it was difficult to return to normal life after being diagnosed with norovirus.

The reason Je-ga contracted norovirus is none other than

It was raw oyster.

Last winter, I had a gathering with friends at a seafood specialty restaurant. The atmosphere was great, and as soon as I saw the fresh raw oysters on the menu, I naturally reached out for them.

It was a food I liked that included oysters, and since I always ate them without any issues, I took a bite this time without any suspicion. The unique ocean aroma and soft texture of the oyster were truly

It was very attractive, haha. Everyone enjoyed the meal, and there were no issues that day.

However, after about 12 hours, suddenly from the body

An abnormal signal has started to appear.

At first, I felt a bit of nausea and some abdominal pain.

I thought it was nothing serious and tried to overlook it, but as the night deepened, the situation rapidly worsened.Sharing the reasons why it was difficult to return to normal life after being diagnosed with norovirus.

Symptom onset: Midnight vomiting and diarrhea

Suddenly, I started experiencing severe vomiting. It felt like I was vomiting without being able to digest the food, and afterward, even though my stomach was empty, I kept retching nonstop.ㅠㅠ

Diarrhea started before the vomiting ended, and I became so exhausted from going back and forth to the bathroom that I felt completely drained.

Even the feeling of body aches came over me, with chills and muscle pain enveloping my entire body.

Even when lying under a blanket, I still feel cold and shivering.

I was feeling unwell. When I checked my temperature, it was 38.5°C.

I had a high fever and my head was pounding.

Next day; hospital visit and diagnosis

On the second day, I felt so exhausted that I finally went to the hospital. After listening to my symptoms, the doctor mentioned the possibility of norovirus.

They said it's big and asked me a few questions.

Did you recently eat raw oysters or similar foods?

Are there people around experiencing similar symptoms?Sharing the reasons why it was difficult to return to normal life after being diagnosed with norovirus.

🛍 As soon as I started talking about raw oysters, the doctor nodded in agreement.

Raw oysters are one of the main causes of norovirus infection.

They said.

Received IV fluids while waiting for norovirus test results.

I have returned home.

The test results were positive for norovirus as expected.

Recovery process; a continuous sequence of pain

It was hell for a few days even after returning from the hospital.

Repeated vomiting and diarrhea lead to extreme dehydration.

It was just a feeling, and even the water I drank wasn't properly absorbed. I drank some electrolyte drinks as authorized by the hospital, but I often vomited everything back up each time I drank.

When my symptoms started to improve, eating porridge still caused stomach pain and was difficult. Foods that I normally could digest easily felt completely unmanageable.

Norovirus is highly contagious.

I was isolated in a room to prevent spreading to my family. I also thoroughly disinfected the bathroom I used and minimized contact with the outside.ㅠ

Norovirus was truly a difficult experience.

Just because of one or two raw oysters, my whole body was exhausted for several days.

It was extremely painful to return to normal life. The lesson from the fractured bone was how dangerous it is to consume raw oysters.

It means that I have come to understand properly.

Since Norovirus, I have become more cautious when consuming raw foods like raw oysters, and I try to eat them fully cooked whenever possible.

And awareness about hand washing and food hygiene has also increased.

It was a very significant experience where I personally realized that a brief pleasure from norovirus infection can lead to great suffering.

Don't let your guard down against norovirus just because it's winter.

I also experienced norovirus in the winter.

Norovirus has no effect from antibiotics.

If symptoms are severe, definitely go to the hospital without hesitation.

Please go and receive IV therapy.

Everyone, stay healthy and don't get sick, please 🥹

저도 생글 참 좋아하는데... 이제 제대로 못 먹겠군요. 겁이 나서 제대로 먹지 못하겠어요. 대신 데워먹으면 되긴 하죠. 다른 방법으로 많이 먹어야겠네요.
