I'm still in my 30s, so I shouldn't worry about diabetes, right?

Age is just a number.

You can get diabetes even if you are not very old.

These days, the onset of diabetes is gradually occurring at an earlier age.

According to the National Health Insurance Service, the number of diabetes patients in their 20s increased from 19,781 in 2015.

In 2019, the number was 29,949, representing a 51.4% increase over five years.

People in their 30s increased by 30.8% during the same period.

Compared to the overall increase rate of 27.7% in diabetes patients across all age groups, the increase among younger people is relatively significant.

The American Diabetes Association has revised its guidelines to recommend diabetes screening starting at age 35 (previously 45).

When diabetes occurs at a young age, the duration of the condition is longer, increasing the risk of complications.

You must never feel completely safe.

One-line summary: The American Diabetes Association recommends getting tested for diabetes starting at age 35!

건강검진에서 공복혈당수치가 높게 나오면 신경쓰셔야죠! 저도 공복혈당수치가 100을 넘게 나와서 신경이 쓰여요.
