On the 15th, Park Yong-gap, a member of the Democratic Party, jointly proposed amendments to the National Public Officials Act and the Passport Act.

 

The proposed amendment to the National Public Service Act includes provisions to deduct the full amount of salary from public officials who have been impeached.

 

It also includes provisions to restrict public officials who have been impeached from viewing, obtaining, or accessing national secrets and job-related confidential information.

 

The passport law revision restricts the Minister of Foreign Affairs from issuing diplomatic and courtesy passports to former presidents who have been impeached.

 

Assemblyman Park pointed out, "There are no relevant provisions in the current law," and "Providing a salary of 21.24 million won and other benefits to a impeached president is not in line with the public's expectations."
