Korean family missing in the Grand Canyon, possibly victims of a traffic accident... car found burned
The local police are investigating whether there is a connection between the chain collision on the highway on the day of their disappearance and the case of a Korean family of three who went missing while sightseeing at the Grand Canyon in the western United States.
According to Yahoo News on the 26th, a rental car carrying two women in their 50s who are sisters and a woman in her 30s who is their daughter and niece was last detected by satellite signals around 3:27 PM on the 13th on Highway 40 from the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas.
The family was originally scheduled to depart from San Francisco on the 17th and return to Korea.
The police are investigating the connection between the chain collision involving 22 vehicles caused by a heavy snowstorm, approximately 1.6 km from their missing area. Two people died and 16 were injured in this accident.
The police are currently collecting and verifying many debris at the accident scene, and they found a white BMW rental car of the same model as the one involved in the accident, which was occupied by a Korean family. However, it is reported that due to a vehicle fire immediately after the accident, there are difficulties in quickly confirming the identities.
The police stated, "Our team continues to work carefully and accurately to clarify the heartbreaking situation," and asked for patience and understanding.
