Recently, I've been feeling a strange discomfort in my knee when going up and down stairs, and after walking for a long time, my entire leg gets easily fatigued, so I went for an orthopedic consultation. I thought it might just be simple muscle pain, but the symptoms kept repeating, and I was concerned about how the pain changed with movement. During the consultation, the doctor didn't just check the painful area; he also examined my gait, how weight is distributed, and my usual standing posture to analyze the causes. When looking at the imaging results, the doctor explained that instead of cartilage damage, certain muscles were being overused while others weren't doing enough, leading to strain on the joints. The treatment was not focused on medication but rather centered around physical therapy and correcting muscle use, and the therapist repeatedly explained which movements were putting strain on my joints while correcting my movements directly. Afterwards, I was given a routine of stretching and strength-building exercises that I could do at home, and as I consistently practiced them, the frequency and intensity of the pain gradually decreased. I was very satisfied because this wasn’t just about getting rid of the pain, but about managing my joints for long-term use.
