The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 25th that cutting boards deemed non-compliant based on the 'total extractable amount' standard will be discontinued and recalled. The total extractable amount refers to the total amount of polypropylene that can be leached from food utensils, containers, and packaging.

According to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, the 'Kitchen Flower Cuko TPIU Cutting Board (Small) Pink' and 'Kitchen Flower Cuko TPIU Cutting Board (Small) Blue,' manufactured by Dongjin Industrial, a food container manufacturer in Dong-gu, Daegu, were found to be non-compliant with total leaching standards. The Daegu Office of Food Safety and Management is currently taking measures to suspend sales and recall these products, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety reported.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety advised the sellers of the product to cease sales and asked consumers who purchased the product to return it to the designated collection site.
