A woman sunbathing on a yoga mat on a road in China was hit by a car.

According to Chinese media outlets such as Sina Finance and Hunan Today, a woman named Yang was lying on a yoga mat on the road in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China, and was hit by a car.

The footage from the vehicle's black box shows the woman lying down after setting up an umbrella.

There were no warning signs around to alert drivers of their presence.

The driver claimed that he did not see the woman in the blind spot while reversing in the parking lot.

He said that he only realized he had hit someone with his car after hearing a cry for help.

He, who has been driving for 20 years, said, "This is the first time something like this has happened," and expressed his frustration, saying, "No one would have thought that someone would be lying on the road under the hot sun."

Mr. Yang, who was hit by a car, said that the quiet engine sound of the electric vehicle prevented him from hearing the approaching noise.

He said he only realized when the wheel had stepped on his leg.

She said, "I saw the 'back sunbathing' trend online and tried it to see if it would help with shoulder pain," and added, "The day the accident happened was the seventh day since I started sunbathing."

He continued, "The cars leaving for work had already passed, and there were only three cars in the parking lot at that time. A few days ago, I also avoided seeing another person sunbathing while they were leaving, and he stated, 'If it had been a non-electric vehicle, the noise would have been loud enough to hear clearly.'"

The woman whose calf was stepped on was diagnosed with a muscle injury, but her leg bones were not seriously damaged. Fortunately, the vehicle had just started to move slowly.

It was also diagnosed that he/she sustained a burn on his/her back due to excessive sunbathing.

The police determined that the primary responsibility for the accident lies with the vehicle driver, and that Yang, who was injured, bears a secondary responsibility.

A police official stated, "The driver of the vehicle is primarily responsible for the accident because they failed to properly observe the traffic conditions on the road and could not take action when the situation arose. The woman who sunbathed on the road bears secondary responsibility for the accident."
