5 Ways to Overcome Herpes (Cold Sores)

This is a story about our second child~

I hope this information about five ways to overcome our second herpes simplex virus type 1 (cold sores) will be helpful.

5 Ways to Overcome Herpes (Cold Sores)

Around mid-last year, our second child woke up in the morning and said that they had been bitten by mosquitoes at night, which caused itching and swelling of the lips.

They were whining... So I thought it was interesting that there are no mosquitoes in my high-rise apartment, and I brushed it off as nothing special.

However, my mother came home in the afternoon, looked at our second child, and said, "This one looks tired and swollen around the mouth... you should take him to the hospital."

I was tired and asked why my swollen mouth was itchy, and I just let it go.

That evening, the second child was itching, so I touched it with my hand, and it burst and bled, so I was putting a bandage on their lip.

I thought I should go to the hospital, so I received treatment, and the doctor diagnosed it as herpes and prescribed antibiotics and medication.

The wound disappeared about a week later. T_T

5 Ways to Overcome Herpes (Cold Sores)

First, the word herpes may seem unfamiliar, so let's learn about herpes infection.

What is herpes?

Herpes simplex virus, which belongs to the herpes virus family, infects the skin and mucous membranes, primarily causing blisters (vesicles).

It is a disease. The simple herpes virus has type 1 and type 2; type 1 mainly occurs on the waist, while type 2 occurs below the waist, especially in the external genital area.

It causes infection. Our second child has type 1. Therefore, I will mainly explain about type 1.

Type 1 virus infection primarily manifests as blisters around the mouth when you catch a cold or feel tired.

Once infected, even after the lesions disappear, the virus remains in the body, hiding in the nerve tissue called the dorsal root ganglion, and then

It seems that external factors such as stress, inflammation, immune suppression, and trauma can cause recurrence and trigger symptoms. ㅜ.ㅜ

They are bad guys!!!

What are the symptoms of herpes?

Depending on the site of viral invasion and the patient's immune status, various symptoms may occur.

In primary infections, most individuals show no symptoms, and some exhibit localized skin lesions, but in neonates or immunocompromised individuals, such as those with weakened immune systems,

It is said that severe systemic infection can occur without skin lesions.

Most adults infected with herpes simplex virus (90-95%) have antibodies against type 1.

This antibody cannot prevent the recurrence of herpes. ㅜ.ㅜ

1. Acute oral pharyngeal infection

Primary infection caused by type 1 herpes often manifests as stomatitis or pharyngitis. It mainly occurs in infants aged 6 months to 5 years.

In children, it occurs as stomatitis, accompanied by sudden severe oral pain and a high fever above 40°C, lasting about 2 to 7 days.

It continues. In adolescents and adults, primary infections tend to present as pharyngitis or tonsillitis rather than stomatitis.

2. Lip herpes

It is the most common form of recurrent infection caused by type 1 herpes, with blisters most frequently occurring at the border between the lips and skin.

Before blister formation occurs, symptoms such as pain, itching, and burning appear, and the condition fully recovers without scars within 6 to 10 days.

3. Skin infection

When healthy children or adolescents are exposed to secretions contaminated with viruses after sustaining abrasions, skin infections can occur.

Herpes perionychitis is a simple herpes virus infection that occurs on the fingers or toes, leading to thumb-sucking.

It commonly occurs in young infants. It naturally recovers between 18 and 20 days, but antiviral medication can be administered if necessary.

It is said to be available.

4. Eye infection

Primary and recurrent infections can occur in the conjunctiva or cornea. Conjunctivitis and keratoconjunctivitis mainly occur in one eye.

Blisters may form on the eyelid margin or the skin around the eyes.

What is herpes treatment?

Most herpes virus infections do not require treatment and can be managed simply by keeping the lesions clean and dry.

It heals naturally. If the lesion persists for a long time, antiviral medications are used and tend to be effective.

The most commonly used acyclovir is said to strongly and selectively inhibit the replication of herpes simplex virus type 1.

5 Ways to Overcome Herpes

First, prevention can be broadly divided into two categories.

This is a method to strengthen immunity and relieve stress.

We are implementing a total of five methods for this purpose^^

First, strengthening the immune system.

5 Ways to Overcome Herpes (Cold Sores)

1. Nutritional supplement intake

Our second child is growing taller and is taking Baekjangha, which contains various nutrients, along with magnesium, calcium, and vitamin D.

I fed them because of the cold sore, but the Baekjang from Guangdong is also good for children's growth, so our second child too.

You've grown quite tall, haven't you? ^^;;

2. Herbal medicine intake

Because of our second child, I was looking into herbal medicine and found out about a place called Buyah Traditional Medicine Clinic in Cheongdo far away, so I went there that week.

I brought the medicine and am giving her the medication, just this. The name is funny, it's called the "Alarm Trumpet." Haha.

It is said that comedian Jeon Yoo-sung gave him a name. He processed it in a special way by boiling deer antler to make it easier for children to eat.

Our second child and I get along really well, so I keep feeding him. He eats a spoonful a day and likes it because it's sweet~~

By the way, Buya Clinic's site is very large, and although it's far from my house, I go there often because it's effective.

When you first go, the atmosphere is a bit like (?) a little funny haha. I remember being surprised when the person at the reception suddenly started singing haha.

However, herbal medicine is effective and suits us well~~ I will leave a link below for your reference^^

3. Laser shooting

Both of my kids do it, and they love it so much~ Regular air pistol shooting can be dangerous if someone gets hurt, so it's not easy to try it around.

It's not easy, but this laser shooting uses the same equipment as a regular air pistol, and since it's laser-based, it doesn't hurt anyone.

The kids do it a lot~ I tried it once too, and it's fun haha. But the target is too small, so it was hard.

Even though we are only 7 meters away, it's hard to see clearly, but the players are amazing at adjusting to 25 meters and 50 meters!! My second child says so.

They say it feels thrilling when it fits well~ The sound of the bang when firing also helps relieve stress~

4. Meditation

I meditate every day, and my children do it with me^^

Even if I don't want to do it in the morning at first, doing it together helps lift my mood and start the day feeling refreshed.

5. Rest

It's truly a rest. Our house takes a full day off on Sundays no matter what...

Just as each person perceives rest differently, everyone takes their own break.

It's important to refresh oneself every day~

I stay up late sleeping and reading books.

Our kids are watching YouTube videos they haven't seen before, haha. I tell them not to do it because it doesn't feel like a break, but they do it anyway.

They say it's to rest while watching... Since watching for too long is tiring, I let them watch for only an hour and then read a book.

I've been reading since I was young, so I usually read for about 4 hours.
