Straumann Implant
Procedure Principle
Straumann
The strength of Straumann implants lies in their excellent surface treatment (SLA technology) and special SLActive coating, enabling bone integration 2–3 times faster than regular implants.
Even thin-diameter implants (3.0mm or less) can withstand strong loads, minimizing or eliminating the need for bone graft surgery, and precise placement with digital guide surgery achieves a long-term success rate of over 98%.
Treatment Cycle & Recurrence
Even patients taking osteoporosis medication (such as bisphosphonates) experience 1–2 months faster bone integration thanks to surface treatment, shortening the overall treatment cycle.
By minimizing the medication discontinuation period, the risk of recurrence is reduced, and immediate loading with the BLX system keeps the reoperation rate below 1%.
Compared to regular implants, it offers superior recurrence prevention and stability.

Procedure Reviews
Recommended for these patients
Patients with insufficient gum bone or certain systemic diseases
Patients with insufficient gum bone, diabetes, osteoporosis, or poor bone quality
Patients over 50 with systemic diseases (such as hypertension, cancer treatment, etc.)
must have a medication check and prior consultation,
and are not assessed by bone condition alone.
Precautions
✓
Use dental floss or interdental brushes daily
Plaque is difficult to remove between implants, so use them daily to prevent inflammation and bleeding.
✓
No smoking or drinking
Smoking and drinking interfere with osseointegration and cause complications (inflammation, failure). Avoid for at least 2–4 weeks, or longer if possible.
✓
Consult about medications in advance
For osteoporosis medications (like Prolia) or blood thinners (aspirin, warfarin), always check with your dentist and physician about whether to stop them.
✓
Immediate implant placement after extraction
After lower jaw extraction, adjacent teeth may shift quickly. Consult promptly to prevent bone loss.
✓
Consistent gum care
Regular check-ups and strong gum maintenance are important for long-term implant success and preventing peri-implantitis.
