Is it okay not to have varicose vein surgery?

My father has varicose veins in his calf on one leg. The veins are prominent and bulging, making it look painful and difficult, so I suggested surgery. However, he insists that he doesn't feel any pain and refuses to undergo the operation at all.

But I'm worried whether it's okay to leave the varicose veins like that since my father also has high blood pressure, and whether other complications might arise.
