I've been stressed and not sleeping properly for a few days because of final exams, and after they finished, I relaxed too much and woke up on Saturday feeling feverish and with a sore throat. I worried it might be COVID or the flu. I checked through CashDoc for nearby clinics open on Saturday and ended up at the Areumdari Pediatric Clinic. Since it’s in the Juja Tower building, it’s easy to park, and surprisingly, even on a weekend, there were a lot of patients. Luckily, there were two exam rooms, so I chose a female doctor for my consultation. She suggested I take both flu and COVID tests, and thankfully, I tested negative. I received an IV drip and a prescription.

I made an appointment with Dr. Kim Jae-woo for 4 PM... after waiting for an hour, I finally went in at 5 PM... even after entering, I sat for another ten minutes... and finally, he came in. Well... he didn't even apologize for the wait... I was the one to say hello first. He said nothing, so I explained that I was there due to an interdigital neuroma... I had a car accident a year ago, and I suffered a toe fracture... after that, I experienced symptoms similar to an interdigital neuroma for about five months. I had an MRI in April, but it came back negative, so I just forgot about it... however, a few months ago, due to another minor accident, I stumbled and went to the hospital, where they said I had developed an interdigital neuroma. I was about to say this when he suddenly interrupted me... He said that an interdigital neuroma doesn't occur because of accidents... um... I thought that they could happen due to compression injuries... like from a major trauma such as a car accident... so I mentioned this, and he quickly retorted, 'If you're diagnosing yourself, then why are you here?' I said I came for a surgical consultation, and then he remarked, 'That's for me to decide.' Since I had no improvement after three months of conservative treatment at another hospital, my attending physician recommended surgery, but the doctor there didn't have much experience with foot surgeries... so I mentioned that I came here because I heard they perform surgeries well... he then suggested we start by getting an ultrasound. So, I waited for the ultrasound... I waited for about 5 to 10 minutes and then he disappeared again. The nurse told me that they needed to use the bed, so I waited outside again. I made my appointment at 4 PM, and by then it was around 5:20 PM... I had an appointment at 5:30 PM, so I just explained my situation and left... ah... I’ve never had such an experience in my life... I really can't find any meaning in further treatment from a doctor who thinks an interdigital neuroma can only occur due to degeneration. There’s a claim that an interdigital neuroma resulting from an accident is often associated with significant nerve adhesions... I needed to explain this so that during the surgery, we could discuss whether a small incision laparoscopic procedure is possible or if a full open surgery is necessary... I was trying to give such detailed information, but when he abruptly asked why I was there and accused me of diagnosing myself, what am I supposed to do?... please listen to the patient a little better... and finally, an interdigital neuroma caused by trauma... it definitely occurs... please look up some research papers... the treatment methods also differ!!

I received a positive diagnosis for Helicobacter pylori earlier and it caused me a lot of stress, but after treatment, I finally got a 'negative' result! Haha. When I first heard I was positive, I felt lost and had a lot of worries. I diligently took the prescribed medication and spent each day anxious, wondering if it would come back. Waiting for the results with the retest kit felt like it took forever. However, I'm really relieved and happy to hear that the treatment went well and the bacteria has been completely eradicated. Going forward, I’m determined to pay more attention to my health and live a more regular lifestyle. If there are any of you who are about to undergo Helicobacter pylori treatment, don’t worry too much; it’s simple! Just breathe into the plastic part of the test kit and hand the collected sample to the nurse, and it’s all done in 5 minutes!
