(Question) Is it comfortable to wear multifocal lens glasses for presbyopia?[15]
I have developed presbyopia and have been alternating between my reading glasses and my distance glasses so far. However, I always have to carry two pairs of glasses and switching between them each time is a bit inconvenient. So, I am considering trying multifocal lens glasses, but I am not sure if it would be okay. I am worried that I might feel discomfort in both situations—viewing distant objects and reading books or looking at my phone—so I am hesitant to get them fitted. Has anyone who has used multifocal lens glasses found it easy to adapt to and comfortable to use?

Lately, I have presbyopia, so it's hard to see small letters. I use my phone by adjusting the screen size and increasing the font size, so it's usable. When looking at books or product manuals, I can't see the small print. I wear glasses because I have nearsightedness and astigmatism. I'm also looking into eye surgery, but I won't be having the surgery right away. I'm considering trying progressive multifocal lenses first. I heard that at first, progressive multifocal lenses can cause dizziness and discomfort because you haven't adapted to them yet. Are there any people like me who have nearsightedness and astigmatism and wear multifocal lenses? Are you doing okay with adapting? I'm curious about how long it takes.

If you look up advertisements, they all talk about multifocal lenses for presbyopia. What exactly is a multi-focus lens? Please tell me from the communication master who knows everything ~

It seems like I wrote something once, but since there was no particular response, I think I'm writing it again. When reading books or KakaoTalk, I usually see vaguely even without glasses, so I often take my glasses off. Because of this, it's a bit inconvenient, and I went to an optician to get my glasses fitted with multifocal lenses a few times, but I'm not sure if I haven't adapted or if there's another problem. Wouldn't it be best to first visit an ophthalmologist for a thorough examination and then get the glasses fitted?

The nearby text is blurry when I look at it with glasses. I find it easier to see without glasses and just use my naked eyes. Anyway, I have to wear glasses, so I do, but when reading KakaoTalk messages or books, especially in real life (especially outside), it's very inconvenient to have to take off my glasses every time I read my phone when a message comes in. So, I got multifocal lenses after diagnosis at an optical shop, and they look quite convincing when I first wear them. But since the multifocal part of the lens is at the bottom of the glasses, (I'm not sure if I'm explaining this properly), I always have to look down at the book. It's so uncomfortable that I just take off my glasses and read. Is there anyone who has adapted to multifocal lenses and uses them without any issues? I wonder if I just don't know how to use them or if it's something else. I want to know how to wear glasses and read books, specifically how to position and angle your eyes.

I'm in my early 40s, but presbyopia came early, huh? 😢 I started wearing glasses for my nearsightedness in middle school, and since then I had been managing my vision correction without any further deterioration. However, last year, I suddenly developed presbyopia. I think because I wear a mask during the COVID period, I dislike the fogging on my glasses, so I don't wear glasses often, maybe that's why ㅠㅠ Now, when I look at my phone, I don't wear glasses because the focus doesn't align properly when I wear them. Do people who wear multifocal lenses due to presbyopia experience any inconvenience in their daily lives? I'm considering getting multifocal lenses, but I heard that an adaptation period is needed initially. How long does that usually last? When I was young, I didn't realize the importance of eyes, but now that presbyopia has set in, I am once again reminded of how vital eyes are these days.

My eyesight is good, but I think I am experiencing presbyopia. People with good eyesight who develop presbyopia can get multifocal lens glasses, but they often find them very dizzying and uncomfortable. Please share your reviews if you've tried them. Maybe because I've had good eyesight my whole life and haven't worn glasses, I also can't wear sunglasses well. The bridge of my nose feels ticklish. I don't think a magnifying glass is suitable, and I'm considering whether I should wear reading glasses for presbyopia correction because my eyes are tired.

In my mid-40s, I used to wear glasses, but lately my eyesight has been worsening. I'm worried that it seems to have fallen. The small text on my phone is hard to see. So I take off my glasses to check, and it's probably due to age-related vision decline. I don't feel any discomfort when wearing glasses in daily life, but I do feel discomfort when looking at my phone or reading a book, even though I wear glasses during everyday activities. I'm considering whether I should switch to multifocal lenses. If you find it uncomfortable to read small text like this, should you change it?
