◇Chubby belly with lots of visceral fat increases the risk of dementia. People with a chubby belly tend to have more visceral fat. Having a lot of visceral fat increases the risk of dementia by up to five times. Fat accumulated in the abdomen can block brain blood vessels by traveling through the blood vessels, or inflammatory substances secreted by fat cells can deform brain blood vessels, leading to dementia. According to a study by Northwestern University in the United States, people who are of normal weight but have a protruding belly have about five times the risk of developing dementia compared to people of normal weight without abdominal obesity, and about three times the risk compared to evenly overweight individuals.


◇To reduce greasy foods and escape the "tadpole belly," it is necessary to practice a diet. Avoid sweet and greasy foods as they cause weight gain. The diet should be composed of foods that reduce fat and build muscle. For effective weight loss, even if you eat less than usual, it is recommended to meet the daily adult intake of protein, which is 0.8 grams per kilogram of body weight.

Chicken breast is good for reducing fat and increasing muscle. Instead of eating more fatty meats like pork belly, you can fill your protein intake with chicken breast. Chicken breast is a high-protein food with 23-25g of protein per 100g. It also has a low calorie count of 102 kcal. It is even better to eat it after exercise. According to a study by the McMaster University research team in Canada, consuming about 20-30g of protein 45 minutes after exercise results in the greatest muscle synthesis.

If chicken breast becomes boring, beans or eggs are also good options. Beans are foods high in essential amino acids and protein content. Black beans and soybeans are rich in leucine, an amino acid that promotes muscle synthesis, more so than other legumes. 400g of tofu made from soybeans contains over 30g of protein, which is about half of the recommended daily protein intake for adults. Eggs are also rich in leucine. The protein absorption rate is higher when they are cooked.

 

◇Must incorporate aerobic interval exercise

Combining exercise with dietary therapy is essential. Aerobic exercises such as running, cycling, and swimming effectively burn long-chain triglycerides stored between organs. Interval training, which alternates between high-intensity and low-intensity exercises, also helps reduce visceral fat. Performing high-intensity exercises that make you gasp for breath for 1-2 minutes, followed by 1-3 minutes of light exercise, is effective.
