As temperatures plummet, the health of diabetic patients is at risk.

 

Cold weather causes blood vessels to constrict, impeding blood circulation. Diabetics may already have peripheral blood vessels narrowed due to atherosclerosis, and the cold forces blood to pool deeper, increasing the risk of conditions like diabetic foot disease. To prevent this, diabetics must ensure proper blood circulation throughout the body.

It's important to engage in daily indoor exercise to promote blood circulation. It's best to do this for 30 to 40 minutes, starting an hour after a meal, during relatively warm hours of the day. Here are some recommended winter exercises for diabetics.

Bend over and twist your torso Stand with your feet wider than shoulder-width apart and your arms extended out to the sides. Twist your torso, lightly touching your left big toe with your right hand, then return to the starting position. Repeat 20 times, alternating sides. This exercise simultaneously targets the muscles connecting the upper and lower body. By stimulating the core, it promotes blood circulation throughout the body.

Rotate the pelvis outward Stand upright, support your hips with both hands, and slowly rotate your right leg outward, at a right angle to hip height. Hold for three seconds, then pull your knees forward and lower your feet. Repeat 20 times on each side. This is good for people who spend a lot of time sitting. It improves blood circulation in the lower body.

 

Running in place This exercise raises your overall body temperature. It also effectively burns body fat, making it ideal for diabetics who need to manage their weight. Start by lightly jumping in place, raising your knees to belly button level. Keep your abdominals tight and hold for 20 seconds, ensuring your upper body doesn't lean backward.

    캐시닥이 아닌 다른 앱에서 홈트 하는 거 있잖아요. 저는 그거에 덕을 톡톡히 보고 있어요. 열 번까지 할 수 있는데.. 중간에 몇 번 쉬었다 해야 돼요. 그만큼 제대로 하면 힘들더라고요. 다들 건강 유지 잘하세요.
