견과류 챙길게요 건강 생각해야죠
Professor Alison Cotes of the University of South Australia, the principal investigator (nutritionist), explained, "People often avoid nuts when trying to lose weight because they think the energy and fat content in nuts can contribute to weight gain." Instead, nuts help more effectively suppress hunger. Professor Cotes stated, "Nuts are rich in healthy unsaturated fats, plant-based proteins, and dietary fiber, which promote satiety and reduce excessive calorie intake," and added, "They are also associated with improvements in cardiovascular and metabolic health, gut health, and cognitive performance."
The researchers analyzed the results of seven randomized controlled trials involving diets that reduced food intake by 240 to 1000 calories per day. These studies lasted from one month to one year and involved 676 overweight or obese individuals.
No studies have shown that nuts hinder weight loss. Among them, four studies indicated that nuts actually lead to greater weight reduction in people. There was also a study showing that people who consumed 42.5g to 85g of nuts daily lost 1.36kg to 7.26kg more than those on the same diet without nuts.

"Nuts provide a taste and texture that cannot be found in other food groups, while also being healthy and convenient snacks on the go," he stated. He added, "For people who enjoy eating nuts, knowing that nuts can improve overall health and aid in weight loss is a significant benefit," and "For health professionals, the advantage is that they can recommend nuts without hesitation as part of a healthy diet."
