If the frame excessively presses on the face, it can exert too much pressure on the nose bridge and the area behind the ears, leaving marks on the skin. Continuous marks can increase the risk of developing contact dermatitis.

If the glasses frame fits loosely on the face, even small movements can cause the glasses to slide down and irritate the skin. Especially for people with allergies, it is necessary to choose glasses frames more carefully. Fashion glasses often focus only on the visible part, so they often do not properly check for allergenic ingredients. Known metal components that can cause contact dermatitis include cobalt and nickel. Among plastic components, butyl acrylate, cellulose acetate, and epoxy resin are known. If an allergic reaction occurs, stop wearing the glasses and visit a dermatologist to consult with a specialist to identify the cause.
