Sweating a lot while exercising often gives you a sense of satisfaction and a sense that you'll lose more weight. That's why many people wear thick padded jackets or sweatsuits to exercise. But does sweating actually make exercise more effective?

Sweating helps lower body temperature by evaporating water when exercise raises body temperature. While the more you sweat, the more waste and water you lose, it's not enough to enhance dieting effects. Even with the same exercise, the amount of sweat varies from person to person, and weight loss effects vary depending on the type and intensity of exercise, resulting in calorie burn. While heavy sweating may temporarily reduce weight, drinking plenty of water will quickly restore it. This is because the body is losing water, not burning fat.

In fact, excessive sweating can have negative side effects. Excessive sweating can strain not only the musculoskeletal system, including joints, but also the heart and circulatory system. Furthermore, excessive sweating can lower sodium and electrolyte levels, leading to dehydration. Dehydration reduces exercise efficiency. Losing 3-4% of body weight in water can reduce physical activity and reduce long-distance aerobic exercise capacity by 20-30%. Sweating up to 5-6% of body weight can lead to difficulty regulating body temperature, rapid pulse, and rapid breathing. Individuals with high blood pressure or cardiopulmonary problems are also at risk of collapse due to dehydration.

Moreover, exercising in a sweatsuit creates an environment similar to exercising in hot and humid weather. This reduces fat utilization and increases carbohydrate utilization. Lactic acid produced in the muscles is also not properly excreted, making fatigue more likely.

Therefore, when exercising, it's best to do moderate-intensity exercise that produces a moderate amount of sweat. At the peak of your workout, you should be able to slightly soak your underwear with sweat. It's also important to drink 120-150ml of water every 10-15 minutes. Also, wear breathable, lightweight, functional clothing rather than sweat suits. Warm up before aerobic exercise, and cool down for 5-10 minutes afterward to help cool down.

====================

Because sweating varies from person to person~

I don't sweat much either. Haha

After exercising, take 5-10 minutes to cool down.

It's good for cooling off...

There are a lot of people exercising in sweat suits...

Please note that you should wear well-ventilated clothes.
