Intestinal toxins are toxic substances secreted by microorganisms in the gut. Depending on which part of the intestine they affect, they can cause symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. In particular, consuming foods high in gluten, such as flour and fast food, promotes the production of intestinal toxins. Here, we introduce effective exercise methods for removing these intestinal toxins.

 

Hip kick exercise

 

Raise your upper body from a prone position. When you straighten your upper body, it stimulates the lungs to help expel toxins and gases. Then, alternately lift and lower both feet with a kicking motion, as if kicking the hips. During this movement, the toes and legs should touch the hips. This exercise is not only good for the intestines but also helps strengthen the core muscles.

Gas relief exercise

 

This exercise is designed to relax the intestines and help release gas from the stomach, using a towel. First, sit on a flat surface. Roll the towel lengthwise and place it under the soles of your feet, then hold the ends of the towel with both hands. It is important to keep your back straight and not bend it. Next, stabilize your center and lift your feet to knee height. Be careful not to lift your feet too high, as you may fall backward. While keeping your legs raised, look upward to straighten your back.

 

10-minute foot massage before sleep

 

Not only exercise but also massaging the abdomen is beneficial. Before going to bed, spend 10 minutes massaging your stomach. Abdominal massage that gently touches the stomach organs provides physical stimulation and improves blood circulation. Place both hands overlapping on the stomach and apply pressure with your palms to massage up and down, which warms and softens the abdomen. Next, press in a circular motion around the navel and also press firmly on the sides.

 

In addition to exercise, it is also good to improve your eating habits to remove intestinal toxins. Try eating foods rich in soluble dietary fiber such as konjac, mugwort, seaweed, and natto. These foods stimulate intestinal peristalsis. Also, reduce coffee and carbonated drinks and try drinking tea. Herbal tea, chamomile tea, and peppermint tea are effective in relieving bloating and abdominal pain.
