Even patients with urinary incontinence should be cautious. Caffeine and other ingredients found in chocolate can irritate the bladder and worsen symptoms of incontinence. Chocolate contains caffeine, which stimulates the bladder. This can cause bladder contractions and exacerbate symptoms such as frequent urination or incontinence. Patients with incontinence should avoid foods and drinks containing caffeine.

The most common cause of migraines is stress, but for some individuals, certain foods can trigger migraines. Alcohol is the most typical example. Other foods that may induce migraines include chocolate, cheese, citrus fruits, and fried foods. Experts explain that chocolate can trigger migraines because it contains phenylethylamine, which constricts blood vessels in the brain and causes throbbing headaches.

Additionally, chocolate contains a high amount of sugar, which can cause a rapid increase in blood sugar levels after consumption and then a sudden drop. These fluctuations in blood sugar can act as one of the factors that trigger migraines. Chocolate also contains caffeine and tyramine. Caffeine is a well-known migraine trigger substance. It constricts blood vessels and stimulates the nervous system, leading to migraines. Tyramine also constricts blood vessels, which can worsen symptoms in migraine sufferers.
