However, not all joint pain can be diagnosed as arthritis, and swelling or warmth must be present to confirm arthritis. Experts say, "Arthritis is degeneration of the joints," and "joint pain is the most common clinical symptom, but arthritis can also involve tendons and ligaments."

Symptoms include joint stiffness or swelling, stabbing pain, decreased range of motion, and muscle weakness, primarily occurring in the knees, ankles, hips, fingers, back, neck, and wrists. To alleviate pain caused by arthritis, ☆changing your diet can be helpful.

 

Experts say, "While diet and food choices alone do not solve all problems, a low-sodium diet can help limit pain and reduce symptoms," and "there are certain foods that cause more inflammation in the body and directly affect the joints." Based on sources such as the American women's health magazine 'Women's Health,' we looked into foods to avoid in order to reduce inflammation and suppress symptoms.

 

☆Alcohol

Experts say, "The main component of alcohol, ethanol, causes significant inflammation in the body," and "It is well known that alcohol can directly cause inflammation and harm to arthritis."

Alcohol causes acute or chronic inflammation due to C-reactive protein (CRP). The higher the CRP levels in the blood, the more severe the inflammation. To reduce CRP levels and minimize arthritis inflammation, you should stop or reduce alcohol consumption.

 

Processed foods

It is better to avoid packaged foods or snacks if half of the ingredients are listed as chemicals or words we don't recognize. Processed foods contain advanced glycation end products (AGEs).

 

Excessive intake of this substance can accumulate in the bloodstream and cause inflammation. Reducing the consumption of processed foods such as sausages, bacon, jerky, mayonnaise, and butter can help decrease the body's inflammation and alleviate symptoms of arthritis.

 

☆Red meat

Arthritis, particularly inflammatory joint diseases such as gout and rheumatoid arthritis, is associated with high intake of fats or red meat. Many studies have shown that hemoproteins in red meat promote inflammation.

 

Red meats such as beef, pork, and lamb contain high levels of saturated fats that can cause inflammation and worsen arthritis symptoms. To reduce pain, swelling, and joint inflammation, it is better to cut down on red meat intake and eat more fiber-rich foods like vegetables and fruits.

 

☆Some dairy products

Although milk is said to strengthen bones, lactose and saturated fats in dairy products can cause inflammation. There is no need to eliminate all dairy products.

 

According to research, foods high in saturated fats such as cheese, cream, and whole milk promote inflammation in the body, but unsweetened, low-fat yogurt may help reduce inflammatory symptoms.

 

☆Added sugar

Candy, carbonated drinks, ice cream, and even added sugars found in condiments like barbecue sauce or ketchup can increase inflammation and worsen arthritis symptoms.

 

Experts say that sugar is a chain cause of inflammation, not to mention prediabetes or metabolic syndrome. To prevent arthritis symptoms, it is advisable to monitor added sugar intake and always check food labels.

 

☆Salty food

Salty foods are associated with high blood pressure and promote inflammation. Be cautious with pizza, canned soups, packaged frozen foods, and savory snacks such as potato chips, crackers, and pretzels.

 

Sometimes salty foods containing refined sugar are not only lacking in nutrients but can also increase the risk of inflammatory arthritis. Drinking plenty of water to flush out toxins and control high blood pressure is also important.

 

☆Refined carbohydrates

Complex carbohydrates such as oatmeal, quinoa, barley, and sweet potatoes are necessary for energy, but refined carbohydrates like sugary cereals, white bread, white rice, pastries, and pasta can worsen arthritis symptoms.

 

Refined carbohydrates lack fiber, raise blood sugar levels, and are difficult to break down, which can trigger inflammatory responses. There is no need to completely avoid carbohydrates. Instead, choose foods rich in fiber such as 100% whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and beans.

    대단하시네요 저도 류마티스 관절염있는데 위에 많을걸 안먹는데도 낫지 않는데 더 줄여야 하나봐요

    중성지방정상 좋은콜레스트롤은 정상보다 높게 졸은편인데 허리사이즈  줄이라는데 잘안되네요

      먹었더니 공복혈당이 97  고지혈증
      98이 나왔어요.
      다이어트는 의도 하지 않았지만서도
      체중 감량도 많이 되었어요.
