Dr. Andrew Timothy Krafson, an endocrinologist and associate clinical professor of metabolism, endocrinology, and diabetes at the University of Michigan, stated, "People diagnosed with prediabetes should absolutely avoid beverages with added carbohydrates." Beverages with added carbohydrates include soft drinks, sugar-sweetened coffee drinks (such as frappuccinos), fruit punches, lemonade, and various energy and sports drinks. Regular consumption of these drinks increases the risk of developing prediabetes in middle-aged adults.

 

Dr. Grapson said, "For people with prediabetes, moderate weight loss can be helpful. Scientific studies, such as diabetes prevention programs, have proven that losing just 5-7% of body weight can reduce the risk of developing diabetes by nearly 60%."

 

He also emphasized that prioritizing exercise is important and that it can help improve glucose levels and insulin sensitivity. According to the American Medical Association, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) can be particularly effective in controlling blood sugar levels and may also aid in healthy weight loss. For those with prediabetes, it is recommended to exercise 30 minutes a day, 3 to 5 days a week.

      확실히 살을 빼면 혈당수치도 내려가고
      혈압도 정상이더라구요.
      다이어트 할때는 식탐이 많아서 힘들었는데 살아야 되니까 저절로 안먹게 되더라구요.

      다행이네요.저도 첨엔 혈압만 있었는데
      직장을 그만둔후로 운동을 안했더니
      혈당 수치가 올라 갔어요.
      식습관도 중요하고 필히 운동도
      겸해야겠어요.
