On Monday, August 5th, vaginal inflammation causing odor and itching can be effectively treated by cleaning with 'feminine hygiene products'.

Vaginitis, an inflammation caused by bacterial infection of the vagina, is like a cold for women. It occurs very frequently not only when the immune system is weakened but also in everyday life, and recurrences are common.

Especially during humid and hot weather like now, increased secretions such as sweat cause the moist environment of the vulva to persist, leading to a higher recurrence rate of vaginitis.

◇When the environment becomes humid, it occurs... causes odors...

Vaginitis is classified into bacterial vaginitis, candidiasis, and trichomoniasis depending on the cause.

Vaginal candidiasis caused by the proliferation of Candida, a type of fungus, is very common, with 75% of women experiencing it at least once in their lifetime. 💢 It often occurs when the immune system is weakened, when wearing tight clothing, or when hygiene products such as panty liners are worn for extended periods, leading to a moist vaginal environment.

The vagina always secretes lubrication to protect the vaginal walls. This secretion is originally clear and odorless. However, if inflammation occurs in the vagina, the color may change, the amount may increase, and it can have a strong odor. Many people also complain of itching in the vulva.

◇Use a mildly acidic cleanser and thoroughly remove moisture...

When washing, it is better to use a mildly acidic feminine cleanser (pH 3.8~4.5) to maintain a low vaginal acidity, rather than regular alkaline soap or body wash.

However, feminine hygiene products should only be used 2 to 3 times a week.

Overly washing the inside of the vagina can actually remove beneficial bacteria as well. After showering, thoroughly dry with a soft towel and then put on underwear.

If left wet, fungi such as mold can proliferate, increasing the risk of vaginitis. Especially after swimming in summer or taking a bath, it is advisable to carefully wash and thoroughly dry the genital area. 💢Avoid wearing stockings, leggings, or tight-fitting clothes regularly, and it is better to wear breathable cotton underwear.
