▲ Bedding laundry
In summer, it is more important to wash bedding more frequently than in other seasons. This is because sweat production during sleep increases, and the risk of bacterial growth due to hot and humid indoor air also rises. Additionally, the shorter and thinner summer pajamas increase the contact time between bedding and bare skin, which should also be taken into account.
Therefore, bedding should be washed at least once every two weeks. After washing, drying in direct sunlight on a sunny day can provide additional sterilization effects.
Underwear management
During summer, choosing underwear carefully is important. Especially for women, there are many cases of recurrent vaginitis every summer, so caution is needed. Choose underwear made of breathable materials, and avoid tight-fitting underwear or bottoms like leggings and stockings. Using a mildly acidic feminine cleanser about 2 to 3 times a week is effective in preserving beneficial bacteria in the vagina and removing harmful bacteria.
Indoor dehumidification
If winter is the season for moisturizing, summer is the season for dehumidifying. When indoor humidity is excessively high, the risk of respiratory and skin diseases caused by mold and other factors increases. Therefore, it is important to maintain indoor humidity levels between 40% and 60% through proper dehumidifier use.
If it is difficult to have a dehumidifier, focusing dehumidification in specific indoor areas is also an option. Since shoes often get wet from sweat or puddles during summer, it is good to concentrate dehumidifiers in shoe cabinets. The same applies to wardrobes and towel storage in bathrooms where air circulation is poor.
