If you want to extend your lifespan by 5 years... "Maintain these four habits," what's the reason?
Isn't this something that cannot be emphasized enough?
Things that are difficult even though you know them!!
Let's try practicing each one step by step^^
Research findings suggest that maintaining a healthy lifestyle can offset more than 60% of genetic influences and extend lifespan by over five years. The research team also emphasized that four lifestyle habits—adequate sleep, regular physical activity, quitting smoking, and a healthy diet—are crucial for longevity.
According to the British daily The Guardian on the 29th (local time), research teams from the University of Edinburgh in the UK and Zhejiang University School of Medicine in China announced that their findings were based on a follow-up study of 353,742 people over an average of 13 years.
The research team classified the subjects into three groups based on genetically determined lifespan: long-lived (20.1%), medium (60.1%), and short-lived (19.8%).
The group was divided based on lifestyle into those with good (23.1%), moderate (55.6%), and poor (21.3%) lifestyles, and their lives were observed over an average of 13 years. During the survey period, a total of 24,239 deaths occurred.
The research team stated that, based on follow-up investigation results, a healthy lifestyle can offset up to 62% of the effects of longevity-reducing genes and potentially extend lifespan by five years.
The research team explained that 40-year-old participants with a high genetic risk but a healthy lifestyle could potentially extend their life expectancy by approximately 5.22 years.
The research team introduced that individuals with high genetic risk have a 21% higher risk of early death compared to those with low genetic risk, regardless of lifestyle.
On the other hand, the research team stated that people with unhealthy lifestyles have a 78% higher likelihood of early death regardless of genetic risk.
The research team pointed out that the risk of premature death in people with unhealthy lifestyles and genes associated with a shorter lifespan was more than twice as high as in those with genes linked to longer life and healthy lifestyles.
The research team emphasized that the "optimal lifestyle combination" for longevity is absolutely not smoking, engaging in regular physical activity, maintaining adequate sleep, and following a healthy diet.
