Broadcaster Kim Shin-young revealed the secret to maintaining her weight for 13 years.

Recently, Kim Shin-young revealed her personal weight management method on MBC FM4U's "Hope Song at Noon with Kim Shin-young." Having lost 44kg in the past and maintaining it for about 13 years, she said that she needs to change her habits. Kim Shin-young previously reduced her weight from 88kg to 44kg.

Kim Shin-young said, "Changing habits is more effective for weight loss than just reducing food intake," adding, "Having cup ramen after swimming, eating muk after hiking, and drinking dongdongju are habits."

Next, I recalled that before I lost weight, I didn't wake up in the morning and ate ramen or bread for my first meal, and the most important thing was that I didn't drink water or eat breakfast. She said, "If you give up one habit at a time, you will lose weight."

 

Unconscious behaviors that lead to weight gain... Skipping breakfast increases the likelihood of overeating and snacking.

Weight loss requires not only exercise and dietary management but also correcting everyday habits that unintentionally lead to weight gain. As Kim Shin-young mentioned, skipping breakfast by not waking up early is a typical habit that causes weight gain.

If you do not eat a proper breakfast, you are more likely to overeat at lunch. This is because you tend to eat a lot, either consciously or unconsciously, to satisfy your hunger. There is also a possibility of eating high-calorie and high-sugar foods such as cookies or chocolates before lunch. Skipping breakfast not only leads to obesity but also causes various diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.

However, it is advisable to avoid foods made from refined carbohydrates when choosing a breakfast menu. Eating habits like consuming ramen or bread, as Kim Shin-young used to do, can harm health. Consuming such foods that contain refined carbohydrates on an empty stomach can cause a rapid spike and subsequent drop in blood sugar levels, known as 'blood sugar spike.' Frequent occurrences of blood sugar spikes can lead to easy fatigue and increase the risk of developing diabetes.

In the morning, it is good to include foods that supplement protein and vitamins, such as rice or bread made with whole grains. You can use boiled eggs, protein drinks, salads, or yogurt.

Water that provides a feeling of fullness without calories... also has fat-burning and calorie-burning effects.

It is known that you should drink about 1.5 to 2 liters of water daily. Especially during dieting, it is good to break the habit of not drinking water. Water has no calories but provides a sense of fullness. It also plays a role in promoting lipolysis, the process of breaking down fat into energy in the body.

Adequate hydration also helps to eliminate waste products from the body and burn calories. When toxins are removed from the body, overall health improves and it positively impacts weight loss. If you are dieting, drinking 1-2 cups of water before meals can be helpful. According to a research team from the Department of Nutrition at Virginia Tech in the United States, people who drank two cups of water 20 minutes before a meal lost about 2 kg more than those who did not.
