Mackerel

Adding fatty fish like mackerel to kimchi stew can cause the fish's unsaturated fatty acids to oxidize easily at high temperatures, potentially producing harmful substances that may be detrimental to health. This can increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

 

Processed meat

Processed meats such as bacon, sausage, and ham are high in sodium and saturated fats, and may sometimes contain carcinogenic nitrosamines. Adding these processed meats to kimchi stew can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Since kimchi stew already has a high sodium content, it is better not to add processed meats to avoid excessively high sodium levels.

 

Ramen noodles

Adding ramen noodles to kimchi stew enhances the flavor, but ramen is very high in sodium and low in nutritional value, which is not good for health. Additionally, ramen noodles are fried, which can contain trans fats.
