[My Personal Sleep Items] Blackout Curtains and Silent Clock
I am a disc patient. I have issues with my lower back and neck as well.
My throat really... before I even realize it...
It seems to be about 30 years old.
Knowing that...
My symptoms of cervical disc herniation are different from other patients...
They said it was caused by dizziness and migrainesㅠ
In their early 20s who don't know that.
Every day, once a headache starts... honestly, there's no over-the-counter medicine that helps, and I suffer through the pain until I vomit, even up to clear stomach acid.
I've been taken to the emergency room countless times... but I don't think I've ever fully recovered. None of the painkillers, medications, or IV fluids could soothe me. The doctors who don't know much about emergency care only ask about the possibility of pregnancy whenever a young girl vomits and suffers like that. As for the headache... it's really, truly, incredibly exhausting.
What I found out was... After having my second child, I couldn't move due to a herniated disc in my lower back at 7 months postpartum, and I ended up being hospitalized. It was through an introduction from someone in the same hospital room that I went to a neurosurgery department... After undergoing three tests—MRI, MRA, and cervical spine—simultaneously, I found out. Apparently, my symptoms appeared in such a peculiar way.ㅠ
After that, I received treatment... but this miserable body...
My back is the same, still not fully recovered from the medication, injections, and exercise; it's not there yet.
I'm still suffering from the same headache pain, but at least this time it's not from over-the-counter medicine like back then, so the medication actually works.
Of course, medication alone isn't enough, and you must rest and lie down. It really has to be completely dark in a room where I don't have to worry about anything, all alone.
Now, because of resistance, the effect often doesn't show, which is upsetting... but I try to be grateful, thinking at least I have this somewhere.
This is the full view of the curtain... It's bright at 5:40 PM^^
(This was to show the difference, so I lightly touched the curtain at the far left edge.)
This is the curtain half-opened. It's bright outside, isn't it?
It has to be this dark to be possible haha)
It was a long explanation, but this is my sleep item...
Blackout curtains that block everything...
This is a silent clock that is essential in this house.
Expensive cervical pillows and aromatherapy didn't work either.
When you're sick, you have to take medicine and stay completely in the dark. I can't even tolerate the ticking sound of a clock... This isn't just when I'm sick, but also during normal days... Even during sleep every night. If a light shines after waking up, I often get a headache from the morning...
Thanks to them, I can at least maintain a healthy life lol
Even while feeling sick, still somehow good lol
It's hard to get a good night's sleep because of snoring, but when I go to bed after midnight and the snoring quiets down a bit... I always have to draw the curtains. I have to take care of my own body, haha.
But even a healthy body benefits from blackout curtains for better sleep! By the way, our kids' room also has blackout curtains, and they sleep soundly, you know^^ I recommend it~~
