Strength Training

Professor Jung Hee-won, a geriatric internist from Seoul Medical College, said, "When you're young, you should focus on aerobic exercise; as you age, strength training becomes essential. In your 50s, your body stiffens, so you need to stretch diligently. That way, even in your 70s and 80s, you won't suffer damage to your joints and cartilage."

 

💥 "There are three exercises to strengthen the core: plank, squat, and bridge. Lying down and lifting the hips is good for urinary incontinence. Think of your core muscles as a 'lifeline' and do 10 to 15 minutes each morning and evening. If your core is strong, you won't experience constipation, waking up at night to urinate, or acid reflux," he emphasized the importance of strength training.

Exercise plays a role in improving cardiovascular risk factors such as lowering blood pressure, enhancing insulin sensitivity, improving inflammation markers, reducing weight and body fat, and improving myocardial function.
