[Question] I have allergic conjunctivitis. Can I use a heating pad?

I have severe dry eye, so I've recently started using a heated eye mask and it's been working. A family member with allergic conjunctivitis also has severe dry eye and uses artificial tears every day.

I'd like to recommend a heating pad to this person, but I'm wondering if it's okay to apply heat to someone with conjunctivitis symptoms.

I'm worried that a hot compress might make the inflammation or itchiness worse.
