I have a bruise where I got my flu shot. I'm curious about why and how to manage it.

I recently got a flu shot, and the next day I got a bluish bruise where I got the shot.

After I got the shot, the nurse told me not to rub the injection site, so I just pressed on it, but it still bruised.

The day I got the shot, my arm hurt and I had a slight fever. I'm fine now.

The pain at the injection site isn't that bad now, but I'm worried because the bruise isn't going away easily.

Is it common to bruise after getting a shot? I'm curious as to why.

Are there any home remedies to help bruises go away quickly? I'm also wondering if hot or cold compresses would be better.
