Hematuria can be a symptom of cystitis!

Over the past few months, my immune system has been weakened, and after my period ends, I always experience lower abdominal pain as a symptom of cystitis. This month, the pain was severe, and a urinalysis showed blood in the urine, leading to a diagnosis of cystitis and treatment. I wanted to share this experience!

 

When did you experience symptoms of hematuria?

Hematuria can be visible to the naked eye and may also present as dark brown concentrated urine. I didn't realize I had hematuria until I went to the hospital for testing. When I collected urine in a cup during the check-up, it appeared as dark concentrated urine.

I did not experience tingling, urgency, or frequent urination when urinating, but I had severe lower abdominal pain, pelvic pain, and blood in the urine test, which led to a diagnosis of cystitis.

 

3. Do not stop taking the prescribed antibiotics; finish the entire course!

If you abruptly stop antibiotics for cystitis and do not receive proper treatment, the condition can worsen and lead to pyelonephritis. You must take the prescribed medication until the end without fail.

 

4. What foods are good for hematuria cystitis?

Cranberries contain ingredients that prevent bacteria from attaching, which helps prevent infection risk, so I am drinking Ocean Spray cranberry juice regularly.

 

5. Adequate fluid intake

Drinking plenty of water helps to flush out inflammation from the body, so I tried to drink at least 1.5 liters of water a day. As I drank more water, the concentrated hematuria turned into normal yellow urine.
