Whenever I go abroad, I always get skin rashes due to water changes. I'm curious about how to deal with it.
I went on a trip to Thailand a while ago.
Once you arrive, you'll be fine until the first day of your actual trip.
And from the second day onwards, after washing, my face starts to get red and swollen.
I think it's probably because of the water. I've never gotten gastroenteritis from eating food, but it's just my skin that's like this.
First, your face starts to get red and itchy, and then it starts to appear on your arms and legs.
When it's really bad, your face becomes like this, especially the forehead and under the eyes, and it becomes red and swollen. The lower face is fine.
Hives like this appear here and there on my arms and legs.
I also have a sun allergy, but Thailand is currently in early summer, so the sun isn't very strong. The mornings and evenings are cool, and some days are even cloudy with no sunlight. So I don't think it's a sun allergy. (Below is the weather from last Wednesday.)
Especially after showering, it sometimes spreads to the abdomen and thighs.
It's even more frustrating because this kind of thing rarely happens in Korea.
Even though I washed it lightly, my skin is red and feels hot.
I also use my own method...
It's the same even if I always use bottled water for washing my face, rinsing my face, and brushing my teeth, and I don't use any hotel amenities and just take my own cosmetics.
I always bring a shower filter, but they say that the filter actually has no purifying effect at all.
I thought it was because it was Southeast Asia, but it was the same when I went to Europe.
Every time I go abroad, this happens and I feel so anxious and uncomfortable!!
Before I left, I deliberately ate carefully, and packed all the medicine I needed (hives medicine) and ointment in my carry-on bag...
Of course, it subsides after some time in Korea. But it's stressful because it happens every time I go out.
I think it's even more difficult because water changes aren't really a disease. I have a business trip abroad this month, so I can't avoid going abroad at all. I've done everything I can to prepare, but this makes it even more difficult.
Actually, I heard that there is no specific medicine for hives caused by water changes. Is that true?
Are there people like me who get skin problems when they go abroad due to water changes?
If anyone knows how to deal with this, please help me.
